Because of many opportunistic scamsters, MLM (Multi Level Marketing) is looked upon more as a scam than a legitimate business. MLM does not really mean scam. It’s quite a legitimate business if you choose the right company, and you can certainly create multiple streams of passive income if you do it right. If you do not have any experience in MLM and wish to consider it seriously, you have to do some research before you jump into it. I would recommend the following tips to start off:

1. Get acquainted with the ins and outs of MLM. Visit MLM discussion forums, read what others are saying, what is making them money, what is not converting, what is identified as a scam, etc. Read articles and ebooks on MLM, understand the concepts of downlines and matrix; basically get the hang of the MLM business.

2. Next, make a list of prospective MLM companies you wish to join based on your research, their market standing, their ability to fulfill your goals, their supporting your country, their compensation plan, their bonus revenue pool, your interest in their products, your ability to market their products, etc.

3. Now is the time to select your upline. Choose a good leader carefully, one who is willing to work with you and support you till you can manage yourself. Will he help you in following up and converting leads? Will he actually call up your pre-enrollees and leads? When you’re first starting out, it pays to have someone who can support and motivate you.

4. You have to understand that you need to leverage at least one or more of three things to succeed in network marketing - your own time, money (to generate leads) and resources (hard work). This business works best when you have a team that cumulatively possesses all three of these. This means that you need to look out for leaders that fill up the area you lack in.

5. Your business will take time to reach the goals you’ve setup. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day; and neither will your MLM business. Have patience and give it at least three to four years to reap real results. Start doing it part time along with your day job or whatever other business you have and gradually build it up. Pace yourself for the long haul, don’t stress yourself out by overworking in a frenzy and affecting your health.

6. Maintain your client list and use the services of an optin email solution where you can update them with new offers as and when you come across them. Marketing online is a great and cost effective way to do business, so you also need to learn about internet marketing and copy writing which you can use for making ads. Check out my other articles on these subjects at http://www.bharatbhasha.com/author.php/Nirjara%20Rustom

7. Its great to join new companies as you get in the ground floor and you increase the chances of building a greater downline. At the same time, its also a higher risk. Do some due diligence by asking folks in the trenches and also do some research on the internet. But since piling people is a race in this business, just signup and reserve your position before you do a detailed due diligence.

8. Always join companies that have some real rock solid products, keep away from the junk. This way, you don’t have to sell the sizzle (hype), just the steak. The key is to join the right program at the right time with the right people, continue to re-invest a part of your income in self improvement and other programs, and form co-ops with others.

9. Branding is a very important criteria in the MLM business. Maintain a habit of putting your name with every promotion you do. Once you’re known to promote only reputed and decent products, people will listen to you and also join every program that you promote. This is called “Branding Your Name And Breaking The Bank”!

10. Its 100 percent legal to form 2, 3 or more companies; signup from one company, put your second company below it, put your third company below the second, so on and so forth, depending upon the number of levels the MLM allows. Just ensure that you have separate tax IDs for each of them. This way, you just need to promote the bottom (last) account and you get paid on multiple levels! This is good if you plan to do business in a big way. While the initial cost of setting up companies is high, you can continue using them for each new MLM Company you join. Some MLM companies even offer you the opportunity to buy multiple positions when you first join them, which can even double your income.

Hi,

What many network marketers are doing to find people for their team is online lead generation. You can’t rely on your company’s replicated website because everyone else in your company has one. What you need is a simple blog or website that talks about your company and what your doing to make money at your opportunity. Then you set up a "squeeze page" that will get people to put in their contact information and then you can call or email them about your opportunity.

Be sure to check your company’s policies and procedures to make sure you can build a website or blog using their name. If not, that’s okay because you can still create a website that makes people curious about your opportunity so that you can call them and let them know what it is.

I hope this isn’t too confusing. Here’s an article that explains in more detail what I am talking about: http://simple-internet-strategies.com/network-marketing-internet-business.html

Good luck with your new business!

Healthy Mom

I am new to network marketing. The company I’m with is well established and on the NYSE. I just figured I would reach out to you all and see if someone could give me any tips. I would love to hear your story.

Elizabeth,

You’re about to discover just how may ‘experts’ there are on network marketing.

Some of the advice you’ve already been given is sound. Some of it not so sound.

I do my 90% of my business online. I simply don’t have time to wade through hundreds of people that are not interested in what I offer to find one or 2. That’s a game no one can win… Not in one lifetime anyway.

Here’s some information that may help you get started out the right way.

Best of Luck to you!

Who doesn’t want wealth? I would not believe you even if you raise your hand and say “I”. Surely, all of us dream of having wealth and each of us has their own reason for wanting it.

I’ll let you in on a little secret… One fast and easy way to attain wealth is through network marketing or multilevel marketing. This is a business scheme wherein individual and independent contractors or franchisees within a parent company are compensated based on their sales of products or service that they bring into the business. In short, the better you are at dealing with people and selling products, the more likely you are to have a bigger income.

To give you some weapon in your arsenal, here are five sure-fire keys to bag huge sales and build wealth with MLM. These are five effective tips and information that will help make you a successful network marketer:

* The first important thing you need to do is identify the reason why you are a network marketer. Is it the money and the promise of wealth? Maybe you are aspiring to improve your life. If there is one crucial thing to your network marketing success, this is it. If you don’t have a reason and a goal, then you don’t have a motivation to succeed.

* A network marketing business is a coaching and interactive business. You constantly meet and talk with people from all walks of life. If you don’t like interaction with other people, you’re probably in the wrong turf and network marketing business is probably not the one for you. There’s a concept that most network marketers just can’t seem to grasp–”You do not cater to money-dispensing machines, you cater to people!”

* There’s no way you are going to convince lazy people to get out of their bunkers unless you find out what their personal motivations are. What makes people tick? What are their utmost and pressing problems? What do they want solved? Most network marketers literally bank in the amount of money a person can earn. They bombard him with message after message about how successful others have become–how they just purchased their new car, refurnished their old beach house–and promise him that he can do the same!

Just how overrated this approach can get? Your average Joe isn’t stupid. He works long hours at his job in order to provide for his family and saving enough money for future emergencies. Then here you come, barging in and promising him that he can have everything that another person has if he will just sign up to your list.

Okay, you will probably win over a few people that way but if you plan to be in network marketing business for the long-term, you need to change your tactic and do it fast.

Instead of coming on to people with the avowal of the latest and best network marketing program ever, find out their wants and needs. Ask them lots of questions.
In fact, in your first meeting with a person, it is probably much better not to mention your business upfront. Forget your network marketing persona and spend time making a new friend by building trust and inspiring confidence.

* Be organized and focused. There’s nothing quite breezy like having order in your business transactions and a sense of direction. Organization and focus are two helpful tools that will help keep your budding business from falling apart.

* Have a mindset that attracts wealth. Your personal outlook and overall view of the world can be a factor that will make most if not all of your sales. It is given in nature that people tend to warm to cheerful and sincere persons. Although it may not hurt to expend some effort persuading people and employing a little psychology, your personality and attitude towards others are the ones that turn acquaintances into customers and conversations into sales.

Have a good and rewarding network marketing experience. Happy hunting!

Before you consider being involved in Network Marketing, find something that you are passionate about. You really need to love what you do to give it 100% of your life. If you love it you will make it! Along with your passion you need to learn from others who are making it in this business. If you want to be a heavy hitter then take my advise:

Tip 1:

You have to choose the right product. If you can’t sell this wonderful product to your mom or dad or any family member, forget it. Remember, I said you have to be passionate about this product, so if you can not sell it to them, just find something else.

Tip 2:

Be a smart advertiser. Whatever you do, don’t go around chasing people, it won’t work. Learn all you can about online and offline advertising. Search engine optimization, online videos as Google loves them, write articles like I am writing this one, and if you have some cash flow, do an infomercial.

Tip 3:

Learn to be a people person. I do not care what type of personality you might have, learn good people skills or you will never make it in this business. Learn about what makes people tick and they will swarm around you.

Tip 4:

Find yourself professional sales people. Write some classified ads in your local paper, or the online classifieds or craigslist.com and find some people who love to sale. Remember sales is in their blood so they will love the opportunity to work for you. Make sure your product has a wonderful business opportunity and pay plan and your phone will ring right off the hook. Remember, once they find customers that are happy with your product, those people will give you your best sales!

Tip 5:

Make sure that the steps that you take in your business is something easy that everyone else can follow. Make sure your steps are laid out for them. You want it easy and simple for anyone to do. Like McDonalds, keep it simple and easy to duplicate.

Well those are my tips for you. You really can become a network marketer or MLM heavy hitter with these tips in a short time. It does take work and dedication. I hope you will take this advice seriously and use it and watch your business grow.

I love this business and this product gives me what I have shared with you.

I am passionate about it and I have my whole family taking it. I advertise it, I share it with people, I have sales people, and I show people how to duplicate what I do.

Have you thought about owning your own business from home? The benefits can be remarkable. You can earn an excellent full-time or part-time income, often just working a few hours per week.

In no time, you will be saying goodbye to the J.O.B, the boss, the commute, and earning less than you’re worth. Even though this sounds good (and it IS good), profiting in your business from home is not a given.

Home based businesses have a very high failure rate. Most people get an idea for a business, then start out with little more than a hope and a prayer. Granted, a few do succeed, slowly finding their way by trial and error. But the School of Hard Knocks can be expensive and time consuming, with 97% of those who try giving up in frustration.

That’s why I always urge people to base their home business around a well thought out direct sales opportunity. Direct sales provides for high commissions — much higher than MLM — and greater stability. I’ve found, and industry statistics bear this out, direct sales is probably the easiest way to earn a good income from home in a truly serious business of your own.

Follow these tips to greatly increase your chances of success:

1. Insist the opportunity you chose has a proven marketing system that is easy for you to duplicate. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Get a good plan, then work the plan consistently for a year to 18 months to achieve consistent profits.

2. Build your success on the success of others. Big profits always come from teamwork. When you can help others earn while profiting from their hard work, you’ve got the key to rapidly accruing profits.

3. Make sure the products and company are something you’ll be proud to put your name on. Representing a great product isn’t hard at all. You’ll be happy to tell your friends, family, and prospects — and they’ll be delighted to hear what you have to say.

4. The business you chose should be built on integrity. Far too many businesses online are based on ripping people off. While that can earn you some money in the beginning, shaky deals always fall apart fast. Stay away!

5. Your home-based business should improve your life, let you work fewer hours, and give you more flexibility to be there for family and pursue your interests. Knowing your business is making your life better will keep you going through the tough times and spur you on to greater heights.

Earning money from home using a duplicable marketing system and applying it to big profit products that benefit everyone is a remarkable experience. You’ll find direct sales is your path to home-based success.

Hey Folks…

Josh Boxer here with some information on do’s and don’ts of network marketing health products.

There are two schools of thought when it comes to making your products stand out in the world of information bombardment. There are literally thousands of companies selling online health products through the network marketing or MLM pipeline. What will make people choose your health product over someone elses? And how do you go about selling your product either by relational commerce or online. Here are some tips.

1. When talking about your product, never bash your competition. It never makes you look good. You always want to take a positive approach to the marketing of your health products, especially in the network marketing world.

2. Find out what the problem or health issue is and then show how your health product can solve the problem. Don’t go into all of the benefits on the front end, you want to find the need and fill it.

3. In network marketing your health product, don’t be afraid to give out samples. We are a touchy feely world and people want to TRY before they BUY, it’s a fact. When you give out a product, if possible, have your potential client try it on the spot. Ask questions and then go for the close. Most people are afraid to ask for the sale. You don’t ask, people don’t buy its that simple.

4. You want to have repeat business right? So always offer that extra personal touch. Let people know you appreciate their doing business with you. Send them a note in the mail telling them you appreciate them. Also, keep them in on the loop on the latest of your health products via email or through an auto-subscription or newsletter.

When selling online:

Make sure that you have done your homework on your competition. What makes your product superior to the competition. You had better have a stellar ad campaign to make sure you are at the top of the search engine queries. Always sell at retail and don’t undersell your product.

Remember, People move products, its not the other way around. People have a need to belong. Its important that they guy at the top come down and help the guy just getting started and put the edification back on the new guys upline so that they will eventually listen to him. People dont want a boss as most already have one of those. People want mentorship and coaching.

In network marketing your health products, you want to get your product to the public by talking about it, using it everywhere you go. Try a trade show, use it at work. Live your product and your product will live in you. Dont get caught with the competitions product sliding down your throat. It will take credibility away from you and on to the other guys product.

Well, that is it for today.. Stay tuned for some more network marketing health tips…

See you at the top,

If you are looking to get involved in Network Marketing, or if you want to change networking companies, here are some tips on how to get it right 1st time!

I got lucky. Very lucky as it turns out. 12 years ago I met a couple who told me about the International networking business they were building as they travelled around the world. I got involved without doing any research other than attending a national training day. I knew nothing whatsoever about the Industry, very little about the couple and nothing much about this particular company, other than what I learnt that day. (Ignorance is bliss). It is only with hindsight, having met many people over the years since who have been in 2, 3, 5 networks or more that I realise how unusual it is to join a good company on day one in network marketing.

What I did realise straight away however is that when a network marketing company gets it right (more on that shortly) then you have the most amazing concept for creating a pension-style income in 3-5 years, and for freeing up your time to enjoy your life. It certainly beats working 9-5 for 40 years with no guaranteed pension at the end of it (for most people that is the case these days). And people from any background can build a successful business with the right company and the right attitude.

From my 12 years experience in networking, and working with many people who have been in other mlm companies, these are some of the key points I feel you should be able to tick when considering which company to join. It is so important to do your research because, unless you have excellent intuition, you could spend the next 2-5 years (or more) building your network, only to have the company go bust, leaving you with absolutely nothing, and probably putting you off the industry for life. And yes, I know people this has happened to.

Here are the key points: (in no particular order).

Do they have a proven track record of success? (Again, you need the stability if you still want to get paid 5-10 years down the line.) A new company could be here today, gone in a year.

Do they have consumable products? (Who wants to put all their time and effort into continually finding new customers, which is the case if your company’s products are not consumable. Don’t you want your time freed up to build your network if you want a big business? So consumable products are essential for that to happen.)

The Marketing Plan. When you reach a position in the company’s plan, what do you have to do to maintain that position? Can you slide back down the plan if you don’t maintain volume? (Who wants to get penalised for taking time-out?) What is the top bonus payment percentage? ie are the company rewarding you fairly? (I get up to 68% including the extra incentives)

Is the plan generous to people at all levels, or just those who were in at the beginning? How easy is it to move up the plan quickly?

Is the Company ethical? Do they have a stable Management team? Do your research! Spend some time now getting it right, so you don’t waste your time for years to come on the wrong company. There are a lot of good Network Marketing Companies out there - and some may not be so good…Are the distributors ‘happy?’ Don’t just take your sponsors word for it, talk to others outside your sponsors group who have been with the company a while.

Do they have a good training program in all areas of the country or are you left to ‘get on with it’ once you sign up? (You may be very self-motivated and have previous experience of networking, but what if the people you recruit need training - and what if they live at a long distance?)

I hope you find these tips guide you in the right direction and Good Luck with your networking career.
